A Tennis Poem
One night when I was five, I had a dream, that I had won!
As I was standing on the grass courts of Wimbledon.
I heard Someone speak that this can come true,
But it will take great effort everyday from you.
My Mom put me in private lessons each week,
And I began practicing serves and groundstrokes tirelessly.
This past summer we visited the NBTA,
And I got a glimpse of Mr. Nick B. giving a lesson that day!
The coaching legend turned and looked at me,
And I prayed that he saw what I know I can be.
Maybe they will see the talent in me,
The determination, power, and athletic ability.
Each day I strive to perfect my form,
Like the many legends who came before.
Maybe I will grow over six feet tall,
As I gaze at my poster of Sharipova on my wall.
Federer, Roddick, Hennin, and Nadal,
They so are amazing, I love them all!
To be trained by the best at the NBTA,
Is a tennis girl’s dream, I will make it someday.
CYA on the courts guys!
